QPAT 2007
November 29, 2007

Welcome to our presentation!

Speakers: Maureen Baron (Consultant), Anne Wade (Information Specialist), Sharon Peters(Consultant)
HI everyone!
Although information literacy skills are essential for successful learning in schools, and for
effective and efficient functioning in the workplace, few school curriculums specifically teach
these skills. The workshop will address the fundamental components of information literacy such
as how to: effectively use internet search tools, evaluate information, and synthesize, integrate
and use the information. Key issues associated with internet use will also be addressed: such as
plagiarism, cyberbullying, and social networking sites (e.g. MySpace and Facebook).
